We’ve established a set of rules that foster a community where everyone feels welcome, respected, and safe. The complete list of member policies is located here, but below are some highlights. We appreciate your efforts to follow these house rules. When we look out for one another, everyone wins.
MUTUAL RESPECT Please act in a respectful and courteous manner while using the clubs and when engaging with other members or club staff. Fostering a respectful community is a team effort. RECORDING DEVICES To ensure privacy, be mindful when taking photos or videos in our club. Avoid including other members in your shots and remember that photographing or videoing in private areas such as locker rooms, spa treatment rooms, and saunas/steam rooms is strictly prohibited. Using cameras and other recording devices in Kids Club/For Kids Only locations, in pool* areas, and during group fitness classes is also prohibited. CELL PHONES Refrain from making voice / video calls while on the club floor, in class or in the locker rooms – if you must make a call, please find a lounge space and be mindful of your noise level. If you bring your phone to class, please silence your ringer to avoid disrupting fellow members.   EQUIPMENT If you are finished using a piece of equipment, please put it back so others may find it. Be mindful of members who might be waiting and avoid taking up equipment while on your phone. GROUP FITNESS To secure your spot in class, make sure to book in advance in the app and arrive 10 minutes before the start of class to allow time to set up. For everyone’s safety, do not enter a class in progress. If you’re unable to attend a class, make sure to cancel your booking to free up space for others. Late arrival to class may result in forfeiting your spot so that other members can participate. PERSONAL BELONGINGS Keep your belongings, including bags, coats, and jackets, locked in a locker or at our seasonal coat check to keep our spaces and group fitness studios clear and help avoid injury to other members. Please note, bikes and scooters cannot be stored in our seasonal coat check. Equinox does not guarantee the safety of your valuables, including items left in a locker or with coat check, so please leave them at home. ATTIRE Appropriate foot coverings and attire are required on our fitness floors and while walking through the club. Feel free to go barefoot in our locker rooms, when taking yoga or Pilates, and in/around the pool* or other wet / designated areas. MUSIC Use headphones when listening to music. If you’re working out independently in a studio, please don’t use the sound system as it has been carefully programed for our classes. POOLS Bathing suits and swim caps are required; remember to shower before you dip in. STEAM ROOM / SAUNAS Be respectful of other members and keep these spaces free from phones, food, grooming, training shoes, electronics and workout clothes. Inappropriate activity of any kind will result in immediate and permanent termination of your membership. GUESTS Before a visit, check with your club or in your club app for any limitations on guest access and remember that you are responsible for your guests. Guests and members are not allowed to provide personal training services. CHILDREN For their protection, children are not allowed on the gym floor or locker areas and may not be left unattended in common spaces. Children from 4 months to 7 years of age are welcome in our Kids' Club spaces during their normal operating hours subject to availability (listed in your EQX+ app or available at the Front Desk). During special events, children should always be accompanied by an adult. Children who are 15 years old may use the club as a guest but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. *Available at select Equinox locations.
